"A garden's beauty never lies in one flower"

-Matshona Dhliwayo

Diversity and inclusion reach far beyond buzzwords at KGR.  We understand that the cornerstone of a thriving, equitable society lies within the great responsibility of diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and Justice (DEIAJ).  We strive everyday to recognize and value the unique backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences our students bring to the table.  Our mission is to create an environment where everyone feels welcome, safe, brave, and empowered to be uniquely themselves.

We have seen first hand the profound learning opportunities DEIAJ discussions provide. Exposure to diverse perspectives in the classroom challenges our preconceptions and encourages critical thinking, particularly in areas we may not have confronted ourselves with before.  At KGR, we are intentional about bringing these rich conversations into the classroom and coaching framework. Each of us have incredible insights to share which in turn allow all of us to collectively grow. Please, come share your insights with us so that we may grow together.

“A single action, no matter how bold, won’t change the collective nature of racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, or ablism. But everyday actions are not insignificant. They matter. They matter because life isn’t lived at the collective level. It’s lived at the individual level, where every day actions make the difference between inclusion or exclusion, joy or pain, opportunity or disadvantage. They also matter because little things become big things, and the combined power of individual action is awe-inspiring.”       From Mind the Inclusion Gap by Suzy Levy

At KGR, a large part of our DEIAJ discussions are centered around you!  DEIAJ topics are dispersed throughout our curriculum and we dedicate in person class time for DEIAJ discussions.  We have so much we can learn from each other as we all have our own personal perspectives and experiences we can share.  At KGR we honor these perspectives and take great pride in allowing ourselves to grow and learn from these discussions.  We look forward to you being a part of this conversation!!
